Creating a Brand
As Founder of VenuEdu, I’m looking forward to sharing with you the key things I’ve learned about marketing on Instagram that will drive engagement and following. Monthly, I’ll be sharing with you the principles and tips I’ve found to make marketing work for me.
Marketing via Instagram is about creating your brand, and inspiring and adding value to your followers. Yes, having a gigantic following is admirable and the more people that connect with your brand the better, but what I really want is engagement - people who gain something that matters to them and leaves them feeling inspired!
What makes a brand powerful is when you apply purpose and passion. So today, let’s start with getting connected to your purpose and passion you want to drive your brand, and ultimately more authentic engagement.
Here are tips on how to create a brand that others can connect with and in turn, add more value to your business.
What Is Your Purpose?
Purpose. Something set up intentionally as an object or end to be attained.
Whatever your purpose, make sure it’s clear, concise, and that everything surrounding your brand always comes back to its true purpose. In business, this is often a mission statement. A solid purpose will help keep you on track and focused.
Take a moment to write down the purpose or mission behind your brand.
I’ll share mine at VenuEdu to give you an example!

What is your Passion?
Passion. An intense, driving feeling of enthusiasm or excitement for or about doing something. A strong desire for or devotion to some activity, object, or concept.
So you know what passion feels like … that something of such high interest to you, that doing it doesn’t even feel like work. It gets you out of bed in the morning, keeps you up late at night, and is ALWAYS on your mind.
Only you can really define what you are passionate about. For me, it is education, feedback, growth - and I wanted to share that with others.
Passion and purpose is what creates a visceral connection to your virtual community. It makes them want to do business with YOU, over the person next door.
The more authentic you are, the more people can authentically connect with you and your brand. Keep it real, people!
Communicating Passion and Purpose = WHY
- I was so inspired by this video from TED.com, I hope you will be too. Simon Sinek: How great leaders inspire action. You will learn the importance of finding your WHY in business.
What a WHY means to us is: that driving force behind your business that gets you out of bed in the morning and keeps you up at night. The reason you keep going when you’re exhausted, worn out, and overworked. That unshakable purpose that gives you the “quitting is not an option” mentality. Whether your WHY is creating a better life for you or your family, creating something that will benefit your community, or something incredibly personal to you … once you connect with it and let it become the driving force of your business … MAGIC happens!
My takeaway for you today: If the driving force behind your business is not deeper than profit or financial gain or security … chances are you have not truly connected to your WHY. Finding your WHY is not always easy. It demands that you dig a bit deeper into what drives and motivates you. Ideally, money will be the side effect of doing something meaningful to you, offering something of value to another person.
- Take 30 minutes to figure out your passion, purpose, and WHY… write it down and keep it somewhere visible so you see it every day and stay focused.
- Commit to aligning future posts to your “WHY”.
- Watch your engagement grow and become more authentic!
- I would love to engage with you! Please help our community to continue to professionally grow by sharing your “WHY” on our Facebook page - Facebook link
